TSN (The Sports Network)



It has been said to be the most reliable, fast deliver and correct news updates in Toronto, Canada. It’s massively owned by CTVglobe at 80% and ESPN at 20%

The Sport Network, also abbreviated as TSN, is the fastest and most reliable source of sports news in Toronto, Canada. TSN obtained it license into telecommunication on April 1st 1984 and was officially launched on the 1st of September that same year. Its launch in 1984 was mainly to act as a marketing platform for Toronto Blue Jays, a baseball team. It is currently owned by CTV specialty television, and its headquarters are in Toronto, Canada.  TSN owners that make up the CTV are CTVglobe media which massively owns up to 80% of the company and ESPN that owns only 20%.

Other product that have emerged from TSN is the TSN2 feed, which that carries over 800 hours a year of live coverage of sporting that are not carried on TSN.  Other ESPN copy-righted programs eg Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday night football and pardon the interruption also get aired on TSN. Coverage also extends to cover many major sporting activities like National Hockey League, Formulae one, National Football League, and Canadian Football League. Other shared rights will include NBA-which Marjory feature the Toronto raptors-, NASCAR and the PGA tour.

Except on Saturday night rights that were awarded to CBC, TSN holds the national rights to air NHL, hence said to be the 'home for hockey' in Canada. Other deals that will see TSN get more rights are underway and include broadcasts of IIHF world Junior Championship, the men's and the women's world hockey championship, Allan Cup, Royal Bank Cup, Telus cup, Spangler cup and many others. TSN also features live wrestling WWE.
