Masochist

By definition masochist that act of achieving gratification especially sexual gratification by an infliction of pain. The pain infliction may involve physical torture and cruelty that can be in terms of flogging, humiliation by next partner or bondage. This range from mild injury to even killing a victim. Causes of masochism have been stated to be majorly a negative attitude toward sex as a practice. It’s with such activities that the masochist will even kill those involved in the sexual practices as a lesson to others involved. After such activities, the masochist is said to feel sexually satisfied and feels superior.

Another cause of masochism is maybe if the first sexual experience of an individual was achieved by inflictions of pain. Unlike sadism, a similar practice that involves infliction of pain on a second partner, masochism is infliction of pain on oneself by oneself to acquire that desired pleasure. Research has shown that, this can be due to learning from other masochists or from past experience from another persona.

The theory of masochism first done by Johann Heinrich Meibom who observed that the act of flogging the back warmed the semen in the kidneys hence will cause a sexual excitement once it lands in the testicles. However further theories showed what was called semen by Johann to be blood due to the infliction of that pain. The 4th century Kama-sutra also described pleasure slaps. The effects of these practice has been seen to very destructive morally, psychologically, socially and physically, making a masochist difficult to live with.
