Media Players



MediaPlayer is the general term used to refer to those softwares meant to play or deal with multimedia files. Most of these softwares are meant to handle many types of media formats, and the media players that handle many types is considered the best and the favorite amongst many users. The multimedia files in questions are either audio or video formats and one will be handled better by one mediaplayer while the other will be handled better with. Some other MediaPlayer are also meant to handle picture formats. However, some may not be able to handle some other types of formats and will be rendered least favorite. Others are only meant to handle audio formats only while other will be meant to handle videos only.

Window 7, the latest operating system from Microsoft is the latest version of Windows Media Players which is version 12. Mac OS X also has a pre-installed QuickTime media player, which is meant to handle ITunes and movie plus other varieties of media formats. Winamp is another mediaplayer but has been having negative reviews from computer users who have slow computers due to its massive graphics although it also does well on file handling. Other open source media players include VLC mediaplayer which has had the most positive reviews according to current surveys, Mplayer, GOM, songbird, Nero MP,Movida, Adobe MediaPlayer and many others.

To arrange and deal with media file properly, mediaplayers have folder-forms collectively known as libraries which can be categorized in terms of artist, genre, album, year, producer and many other groups. This system of arrangement makes it very easy to browse through and find specific files. Other media players have also been noted to have a search tool where you type the artist name, or album and they will be shown directly.
