There Will Be Blood




This is a story of a greedy oil miner who only wants to work and get all the benefits to himself alone and no one else should come between his ambitions, not even is adopted son.

When ambitions meet faith, then there will be blood, there will be greed and vengeance as well. Directed and written by Paul Thomas Anderson, there will be blood is a 158 minute drama and thriller movie released on 26th December 2007, and distributed by Paramount Vantage in the US and worldwide by Miramax Films.

This is the story of Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), an independent oil exploiter and his adopted son H.W (Dillon Freasier) who he adopted after an accident that killed his father, a worker at the oil mines. Paul contacts Plainview and informs him of an underneath sea of oil in their family ranch and Plainview moves in to buy the land. Negotiations are done and he pays $10,000 for the land. During the drilling process, an explosion occurs leaving H.W deafened, this makes him sullen and untrustworthy. Henry (Kevin O'Commor) comes to Plainview as his-half brother disguise, which he is not, as he knows much about the family he convinces Plainview. Things unfold and Henry confesses he is not what he claims to be leading to his death by Plainview. When H.W a fully grown man makes his intentions of starting his own oil business, Plainview disowns him as he informs him of his biological relationship. More murders are seen for those who try to come in between Plainview and his oil business.

There will be blood has seen many award comes its way both to the movie itself and to the actors. it has won two Oscars, 56 other wins and 52 nominations  its rating are at 8 out of 10.
